Use SMS Backup & Restore on Android to produce an XML file, then turn it into PDF or HTML with iExport.

Android doesn't ship with a built-in SMS export, but the SMS Backup & Restore app does the job. It produces an XML file that iExport can read.

Step 1: create the XML backup

  1. Install 'SMS Backup & Restore' from the Play Store.
  2. Open the app and pick 'Back up'.
  3. Choose SMS (and optionally MMS).
  4. Save the file locally or to the cloud.

Step 2: import into iExport

  1. Open iexport.app and pick the Android SMS source.
  2. Drop in the .xml file.
  3. Pick the conversation and period.
  4. Buy and download PDF/HTML.
MMS with images works as long as they are included in the XML backup from Backup & Restore.
